All of the Nutrition.
None of the Work.

If you have followed BirdTricks for any period of time, you probably know that diet and nutrition is EXTREMELY important to us. We believe that a correct diet is the foundation to having a happy and healthy parrot companion!

It is because of that belief and the passion we have for eliminating the junk out of our parrot's lives that we are so excited to announce that our famous Seasonal Feeding System is now available in freeze dried form!

The Seasonal Feeding System is what we feed our very own flock every morning. It consists of 3 core seasonal chop recipes that, in the past, you would make once every 4 months and then freeze into weekly portions. However, with this freeze dried option, you now can offer them the same seasonal chop recipes FRESH every day with little to no work!

Every single ingredient we use in our freeze dried seasonal feeding system is Organic.

Just add a small amount of water the night before, let soak, and voila!

Benefits of Freeze Drying...

Removes 99% of moisture
Retains 97% of nutrition (compared to 60% with dehydration)
20+ years shelf life
Doesn't change look or taste of food

(For more information on the benefits of freeze drying please check out this website)

Each bag contains what we would consider to be an average month's worth of food for the average sized bird, assuming this is fed for 1 meal a day with 1.5 tbsp of pre-watered product (we recommend our Organic Pellets for the second meal of the day). If your bird eats more or less due to size or prior feeding habits, one bag may last you more or less than a month. Each bag contains 90g of product. The cup amount may differ from bag to bag due to settling during transit. The Winter/Spring bags may also state there is only 70g of this - we have changed this to be 90g but still have many old bags printed. Please know you are receiving 90g - not 70g.

Instructions:

Add 1 tsp of water for every 1/2 tbsp of freeze dried seasonal feeding and let soak overnight in fridge before serving to your bird. Never add heat or cook as it destroys nutrients in this food. All items that need to be cooked have been cooked before the freeze drying process. The product will NOT drastically expand after soaking.

Recommended Starting Amounts For a Single Meal (adjust as needed):

For small parrots: 1/2 tbsp of freeze dried seasonal feeding
For medium parrots: 1 - 1 1/2 tbsp of freeze dried seasonal feeding
For large parrots: 1 1/2 - 2 tbsp of freeze dried seasonal feeding

These recommend amounts are just that - recommended. They are NOT absolutes, but they are a place to start for your flock. Always refer back to the process shown in our Perfect Portion video to find the amount that works best for your bird.

Since our seasonal feeding system changes throughout the year based on the seasons, we will only be offering one seasonal recipe at a time as we only want to use the best and freshest ingredients. The current batch we are on is Winter/Spring.

As with any food product, if your bird is eating our product and seems to be having an adverse reaction, please STOP use and consult your avian vet. Your bird might have an unknown allergy.

Our Seasonal Feeding System recipes are suitable for ALL sizes and types of parrots EXCEPT loris and lorikeets.

Is your bird struggling to switch over to this season of food, or even just healthy food in general? Please email us at info@birdtricks.com and we will be MORE than happy to help you through diet conversion! Remember - every little step towards better nutrition is worth it!
