You Asked - We Listened!

Back in 2022, we sent out an email to everyone on our email list and asked what was one product they wish we sold that we, at the time, did not have available. While we had an idea of what many of the responses would be, imagine our surprise when the #1 most requested item was perches! We immediately set out to find the safest, highest quality perches on the market, and we found them. 

We are so excited to introduce to everyone our new line of all natural, sand-blasted, manzanita perches! 

Available in a variety of sizes (details down below), these manzanita perches were chosen with the health and safety of our flocks in mind. Most of our parrots are on their feet 24/7 and, while many places would have you believe that your bird needs just one or two appropriately sizes perches, that could not be further from the truth! Birds need a variety of sizes and textures in their perches to keep their feet healthy and prevent any sores from forming. Imagine being on your feet all day every day standing in the same shoes on the same floor - your feet would be sore, too! 

Being that these are natural perches, there are a variety of sizes even within the same perch thanks to the natural curvature of the wood. The split perches also offer 2 perches for the price of one, encouraging more movement and having more area to play with perch/toy placements within their environments.

These perches also come with stainless steel washers and wing-nut, that way you can be sure even the more curious beaks are safe on their perches! Also, they are sandblasted, giving them a slight texture to keep them from being slippery while also being soft enough to not hurt the bottom of your flock's feet. 

Here are the sizing and style options below to help you choose which perches you'd like to have with your flock!  

Tiny Split - 8" long with 1.5" diameter washers.
Perch diameter ranges from 0.5" - 0.75"

Small Single - 8" long with 1.5" diameter washers.
Perch diameter ranges from 0.5" - 1" 

Small Split - 8" long with 1.5" diameter washers
Perch diameter ranges from 0.75" - 1"

Medium Single - 12" long with 1.5" diameter washers*
Perch diameter ranges from 1" - 1.5" 

Medium Split - 12" long with 1.5" diameter washers*
Perch diameter ranges from 1" - 1.5" 

Large Single - 12" long with 2" diameter washers
Perch diameter ranges from 1.75" - 2.5"

Large Split - 12" long with 2" diameter washers
Perch diameter ranges from 1.75" - 2.5"

You might notice there was no Tiny Single listed, and that that option is currently sold out. This option is not available at this time as the tiny single perches are so small in diameter that the hardware does not fit the base of these. Split is the only current option we have for tiny at this time. 

Please Note: These are all natural branches and therefore they will vary DRASTICALLY in size, shape, and color. You may receive 2 perches that look completely different but rest assured - each one fits within our specified measurements above. You may also notice cracking or discoloration - the cracking is completely normal for manzanita perches and the slight discoloration can come from the sandblasting process but is completely safe for your flock. These perches can be used both indoors and outdoors, but if used outdoors with high humidity or lots of rain, they will need to be replaced if any mold appears or if the hanger bolt, made out of plated steel, rusts.
