Healthy Parakeets

The last few days Lexi's weight has reached the high 20's (28, 29) and Nikko is back in the early 30's (30, 31). They're both acting great but are not so happy about taking their medications anymore. Which to me, is a sign they are feeling much better! They're flying around and chatting again, singing and being very active.

Today is their follow up vet appointment and I think the vet is going to be very happy with how they look today. It's not until 2:30pm so they have the day to relax and hang out before going in. I'm assuming for them to be less cooperative since medicating hasn't been the most fun activity for them for the past week.

The great news is that Nikko's cere looks back to normal completely and there have been no obvious signs of anymore discharge which surprised me a bit, I thought for sure we'd have to do a little something up there to get more out but I will be letting the vet determine that. He has been scratching it a bit more than usual but I assumed it was itchy from healing.

Keep them in your thoughts and I will update this entry after their appointment!

After appointment with vet update (5:46pm):

Nikko had a very little amount of clear discharge from his cere when the vet pushed gently on it today. Because of this and because Nikko isn't at 100% health yet, she wanted to see him back in another couple of weeks. The good signs were that both Lexi and Nikko were flying ALL over the room! They were loud and happy... well, until she did her exam, haha. Who likes that?

So all signs were great health wise. Lexi looked the best and it was determined she didn't need to come back in, only Nikko 2 weeks from now. And the Chlamydia test came back negative, wahoo!
